The carpets’ stunningly rich texture and opulent body is created using another revelation: iVinci®, the latest generation of solution dyed olefin yarns combining appealing softness with superb colours and outperforming stain resistance.
The Yarn
iVinci® was developed in close collaboration with world-leading yarn manufacturers using state-of-the art extrusion equipment combined with an unrivalled in-depth knowledge of polyolefin chemistry.
The unique shape of the polyolefin filaments’ cross-section and the high number of filaments both contribute highly to the outstanding softness, bulk and luster of iVinci®.
The Collection
Stars are eternal, no man can make them cease to shine. Primitive tribes, like the ancestors of the Maori, used stars as light, map and compass, to guide the way

ORION
A prominent constellation visible throughout the world, named after Orion, a gigantic, supernaturally strong hunter in Greek mythology. The Māori called the three stars forming Orion’s belt “Tautoru” and they knew that the end of the year had come when the three stars were lined up vertically on the horizon.

Sirius
The most brilliant star in the night sky, also known as “the dog star” because it dominates the “Greater Dog” constellation. This configuration of 8 stars represents the larger of Orion’s two hunting dogs that accompany him as he hunts Lepus, the rabbit. At the end of the Māori year, Sirius or ”Takurua”, is located directly above Orion’s belt.

Pegasus
The constellation depicting the winged white horse that sprang from the neck of Medusa when Perseus beheaded her. The Polynesian forefathers of the Māori called the Great Square of Pegasus “Ka Lupe O Kawelo”, the kite of the great chief Kawelo. This cluster of four stars was one of the important beacons that guided the ancestors of the Māori safely across the Pacific Ocean to their new homeland.

One of the oldest known constellations in the night sky, first catalogued by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century. It shows the demigod (half god) Perseus with the head of the Gorgon Medusa. Algol, the best known star of the constellation representing the eye of Medusa, may have been named “Matohi” by the Māori people.
